Before I met Vesna I always struggled with my weight.  I would work out until I could barely walk out of the gym, but could only loose a Max of 10-15 pounds after working my tail off for months.  It wasn't until Vesna taught me that my weight loss is only as good as my diet.  She taught me how to read the food labels, how good and bad foods will effect me and most importantly what and how much to eat to maximize my weight loss while increasing my muscle gain. In a year's time I lost over 130 pounds and never hit a plateau.  Thank you Vesna!

I've carried an extra 10 to 20 pounds for most of my adult life. I grew up with the mindset that sports and exercise was solely for recreation and you needed to eat some vegetables in order to stay healthy. It wasn't until after I was diagnosed with breast cancer, in the year 2000, that my mindset was dramatically altered. After fighting cancer for seven months, I gave up eating meat for a while and started walking for exercise. Despite these changes in my lifestyle my weight continued to increase. I was 50 pounds overweight.
 
It wasn't until I joined AVAC in July, and took Vesna's nutrition classes and coaching that I got to the root of the problem and was able to lose 30 pounds in four months. In addition to losing weight, I found my ministry. I had prayed about being of service to my church and my community. Now I'm spreading the word that just eating some vegetables with your meal is not enough to avoid diseases related to poor nutrition, such as some forms of cancer, diabetes, and high blood pressure. In addition, sports and exercise is not just about recreation, but it's necessary for a healthy lifestyle. I can't thank Vesna, my exercise instructors, and AVAC staff enough for this wonderful new lease on life.

I was at least 50 lbs. overweight and struggling to lose weight. Though I’d tried more than a dozen diets, I’d been unsuccessful. I actually gained weight! I was ready to pull the trigger and do whatever it took to get healthy and lose weight. So I enlisted the help of a Vesna Mardesic to help support and encourage me to finally lose the weight and keep it off for good.

 

I was reluctant at first, but jumped right in and learned how to calculate my daily caloric intake and see the benefits of adding protein to my diet. Once I began meeting with Vesna for weekly nutrition counseling and personal training sessions, I slowly but surely began shedding pounds. It really helped to have the one on one support and the scheduled meetings to help keep me on track.

 

With Vesna’s support and direction, losing weight was no longer a battle. I lost 50 pounds and feel better than ever. I highly recommend Vesna for both nutrition counseling and personal training.
